We recommend the following to help ensure safe Online and Mobile Banking activity:

  • Utilize Strong Passwords: Experts advise a combination of letters (upper and lower case), numbers and special characters (i.e. @, #, ^). Stay away from easily guessed passwords such as birthdays or home addresses.
  • Update your Browser: Ensure that your browser is up to date and security patches are applied; always visit your browser’s home page to download the latest security patches even if they don’t alert you to do so.
  • Anti-Virus Protection: Make sure the anti-virus software on your computer is current and scans your email as it is received.
  • Email Safety: Email is generally not encrypted so do not send any sensitive information such as account numbers or other personal information in this way. If you should have questions about email purportedly sent by Somerset Regal Bank, contact us immediately for assistance. You may contact us by phone at 732-560-1700.
  • Monitor your Accounts: Regularly log into your online accounts; don’t leave it for more than a couple of days before you check each account. Real-Time alerts are a perfect way to get immediate notification of account activity by email, text or, if you have the Somerset Mobile Banking app, push notifications. If anything is suspicious, contact us immediately.
  • Don't trust caller ID: Caller ID may be modified to show the name of Somerset Regal Bank or any name the fraudster wishes to display.
  • Don't provide your online banking log in credentials: Including a one-time password, account number or personal information by email, text or phone call.
  • Don't give information over the phone: If you receive a call stating that a transaction is canceled, even if the caller claims to be from Somerset Savings, contact the Bank directly using a known number or searching for the number yourself to inquire about the transaction.
  • Sign Off and Log Out: Always log off of Online Banking by clicking the Logout button as opposed to just closing your browser or using the back button.
  • Do Not click on links in unsolicited emails or texts.
  • Never give an unsolicited caller remote access to your computer! If you become aware of suspicious activity on your account you should immediately contact your local branch or our Online Banking Support Department at 732-560-1700
