Adjustable Rate Mortgages

If you want to save money on your monthly payments early in the mortgage term, or want to qualify for a larger loan amount so you can buy a more expensive home, an adjustable rate mortgage may be right for you.

The interest rate is fixed for an initial period--typically 3, 5, or 6 years
After the initial period the interest rate adjusts periodically based on market conditions, and your payment may in turn fluctuate
Payments are based upon a 30-year term
For your protection there are caps on how much the rate can change at each adjustment period as well as over the life of the loan
